Jack Ciattarelli’s campaign for governor launched a 30-second television ad this week, the first general election television spot from either campaign.
The ad will run from today, Sept. 2, until Sept. 15, according to ad tracking. The buy includes $1.3 million in reservations on New York City-area network broadcasts, $470k in Philly-area reservations, and $256k in statewide cable.
In the ad, Ciattarelli speaks directly to a camera from a booth in a diner and criticizes Rep. Mikie Sherrill’s (D-Montclair) attacks on President Donald Trump. After tying Sherrill to term-limited Gov. Phil Murphy, Ciattarelli says he will lower electricity costs, cap property taxes, and keep communities safe.
Some super PACs have started running ads, but this spot is the first to come directly from a campaign.
Script: “We all know it. New Jersey’s a mess, and all Mikie Sherrill wants to talk about is President Trump. Come on. What does the president have to do with rising property taxes and higher electricity bills? New Jersey’s a mess because out-of-touch politicians like Phil Murphy and Mikie Sherrill care more about pronouns and sanctuary cities than they do solving our problems. That changes when I’m governor. I’ll lower electricity bills, cut and cap property taxes, and keep our community safe. Folks, it’s time to fix New Jersey. When I’m governor, we will.”
Vote-by-Mail ballots go out on September 20.
