Massive Wildwood airshow, ‘Thunder Over the Waves,’ takes flight today. Full schedule.

It’s showtime! The highly anticipated “Thunder Over the Waves Airshow” is set to roar over the Jersey Shore skies today.

The free event will feature 15 headlining aerial acts including military parachutists, formation teams and aerobatics. The show will start shortly before noon and will continue for about three hours.

The inaugural event, presented by the Greater Wildwoods Tourism and Improvement Development Authority and produced by David Schultz Airshows, marks the transition from the Wildwoods’ busy summer to its fall “Second Season.

Spectators can watch the free show from the boardwalk or beach, with the performances centered at Spicer Avenue.

The entire event will be simulcast live on radio station 98.7 The Coast, WCZT and available through their free app.

Following the airshow, visitors can attend the Wildwoods Food and Music Festival at Byrne Plaza in Downtown Wildwood from 2 to 8 p.m.
