A Hudson County-born coffee and bakeshop is rolling out a limited-time menu inspired by popular skincare brand Bliss.
As part of the exclusive collaboration, The Hive will offer a lemon-flavored cinnamon bun and lemon cold foam matcha throughout September at its locations in Hoboken (1000 Park Ave.) and Jersey City (615 Jersey Ave.).
According to The Hive, the lemon flavor is a nod to Bliss’ best-selling Lemon & Sage scent. Founded in 1996 as a New York City spa, Bliss has become a key player in the skincare space. The brand is known for its clean, cruelty-free and planet-friendly products, body butter, exfoliating cleansers, serums, masks, toners and moisturizers.
Started in 2020 by Hoboken mothers Kristin Karotkin and Catherine Willhoit, The Hive earns praise for its creative coffee drinks, kid-friendly play space and cinnamon rolls that regularly draw lines down the block on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The duo added their second outpost in Jersey City last year.
In a statement to NJBIZ, Karotkin and Willhoit said, “The Bliss x Hive partnership came to life so perfectly! The Hoboken and Jersey City community showed up and blew our expectations out of the water in support of our Lemon & Sage cinny launch, as well as the introduction of our Bliss Lemon Honey Matcha.”
Sara Mitzner, vice president of brand marketing at Bliss parent company AS Beauty, shared, “This is such a unique and tasty way to bring our iconic Lemon and Sage scent to the New Jersey community! We’ve been wanting to curate a flavorful collaboration for while now, and The Hive was the perfect partners to bring our vision to life.”
LTO launch
To celebrate the launch of the partnership, Bliss was on hand Sept. 5 to hand out samples of its signature Lemon & Sage body butter to all customers who purchased the LTO items.
The lemon cold foam matcha is on the menu daily, while the lemon-flavored cinnamon buns are available only Friday to Sunday, 8 a.m. until sold out.
This isn’t the first big brand that The Hive has teamed up with. In April, it helped launch Ferrero North America’s first Butterfinger flavor in over a decade by offering cinnamon rolls and lattes made with the new candy.
