The basics:
- Hudson Regional Health unveils Bayonne University Hospital upgrades
- Facility is one of four in new network, formed after CarePoint bankruptcy
- System planning $75M–$100M in investments for new tech, facilities
- HRH expanding teaching hospital affiliations
The new Hudson Regional Health system has continued to make major strides since its launch this spring.
As NJBIZ has reported, the rebrand followed the court-approved acquisition of the former CarePoint Health hospitals in Hudson County. Since then, HRH has announced major investments, refreshes, new initiatives and much more – with an aim of transforming care in Hudson County. The new health system is, in fact, the largest health care network in the county and the fastest-growing in the Garden State.
A ribbon cutting took place Sept. 15 in Bayonne to unveil the changes made at the now-Bayonne University Hospital (formerly Bayonne Medical Center), drawing a slew of state and local dignitaries.
“Our vision for Hudson Regional Health has always been centered around elevating care,” said Yan Moshe, chairman of Hudson Regional Health. “These new upgrades reflect our mission to deliver the latest clinical technologies and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care in every hospital we operate.”
In addition to the Bayonne facility, the HRH network includes:
Since the acquisition, HRH has reopened critical service lines as well as made substantial investments in modern infrastructure, advanced medical technologies and state-of-the-art equipment. That has included capital investments – such as in Bayonne. Additions there include:
- Intuitive Da Vinci robotic surgical system
- Medtronic Mazor Stealth spinal navigation with O-Arm
- Stryker Mako Orthopedic surgical robot
- Dialysis Equipment
- Upgraded Cath Lab
$75M-$100M in upgrades planned
And there are a slew of new services and projects underway and planned. In total, HRH says it plans to invest between $75 million to $100 million for its newly branded hospital facilities.
“Our goal is to provide patients in every corner of Hudson County with access to modern, sophisticated, and compassionate care – right in their own communities,” said Dr. Nizar Kifaieh, president and CEO of Hudson Regional Health. “This network-wide transformation brings advanced medical services, new technology, and elevated facilities to our hospitals – and we’re just getting started.”
HRH also says it is expanding its role as a regional leader in academic health. The provider noted that its facilities in Hoboken and Jersey City are already university-affiliated teaching hospitals. And that Secaucus and Bayonne are on track to be, too.
