City officials announced a fall Citywide Cleanup Initiative to tackle waste, reduce illegal dumping, and keep neighborhoods safe and clean.
Mayor W. Reed Gusciora, along with Public Works Director Wahab Onitiri and Parks and Recreation Director Paul Harris, pitched another attempt to improve city conditions.
“Illegal dumping creates hazards, harms our environment, and lowers residents’ quality of life,” said Mayor Gusciora. “The Citywide Cleanup gives everyone a safe, environmentally responsible way to dispose of bulk items and unwanted debris.”
Cleanup will take place by ward, each Saturday in October:
North Ward: October 4
West Ward: October 11
South Ward: October 18
East Ward: October 25
Residents should place items at the curb by 7:00 AM on their scheduled day. Crews will collect yard waste and furniture. Items not accepted include construction debris, chemicals, televisions, electronics, and unbundled branches longer than 4 feet. To arrange pickup for these materials, or for information, residents can call the Street Division at (609) 989-3200.
