Blaze Pizza is celebrating the launch of its newest restaurant in New Jersey by giving away free pies.
Located at 820 W. Edgar Road in Linden, the fast-casual, build-your-own pizza chain is scheduled to hold its grand-opening event Sept. 30. As part of the festivities, the first 50 people in line before 11 a.m. will score a card to redeem one free pizza per month for a year, according to Blaze.
Additionally, every guest who drops into the restaurant that day will receive a free 11-inch, build-your-own or signature pizza, no purchase necessary. The offer is valid in-store only and not available online or via third-party delivery platforms, the company said.
The opening day will also include games, prizes and a 3:30 p.m. ribbon cutting with Linden Mayor Derek Armstead. Also, the location will donate 20% of Oct. 1 sales to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital as a community giveback initiative, Blaze said.
Founded in 2011, the franchise is popular for its customizable, artisanal pizzas. After customers choose from more than 40 fresh toppings, house-made doughs and sauces, pizzas cook in just 180 seconds.
The Atlanta-based chain’s footprint of 300 stores across the U.S. includes seven in New Jersey: Bound Brook, Clark, Livingston, Newark, Paramus, Teterboro and Wayne.
More to come
Following the grand opening, Linden will be open Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
The site is owned and operated by GSP Group, a firm whose portfolio also includes franchises such as Wingstop, Subway, Dunkin’ and Paris Baguette. GSP Group is also the same company working to open New Jersey’s first locations of southern fried chicken chain Zaxbys.
Linden is among 10 Blaze Pizza outposts the team plans to develop under a multi-unit agreement signed last year, according to the chain.
“We chose Blaze Pizza because it’s a brand that truly empowers the guest,” said Premanand Gupta, franchise owner and spokesperson for GSP Group. “The combination of speed, quality and full personalization and the ability for guests to choose from a wide range of fresh toppings, sauces, and cheeses makes it a pizza experience unlike any other.”
