Jerry J. Dasti, a politically influential lawyer in Ocean County who has represented government entities across New Jersey, died this afternoon. He was 76.
Dasti had been in a car accident on September 2 and was on a ventilator at the time of his death.
He was a partner at Dasti, McGuckin, McNichols, Connors, Anthony & Buckley, a Toms River-based firm. He served as finance chairman of the Ocean County Republican Organization and as a trustee of Ocean County College.
Legal services were provided by Dasti and his firm for Barnegat, Bay Head, Beach Haven, Berkeley, Brick, Burlington, Eagleswood, Harvey Cedars, Island Heights, Jackson, Lacey, Lakehurst, Lakewood, Lavallette, Little Egg Harbor, Long Beach, Manchester, Mantoloking, Ocean Gate, Ocean, Pemberton, Pine Beach, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Seaside Park, Ship Bottom, South Toms River, Stafford, Surf City, Tuckerton, Union Beach.
Dasti also represented a number of county and regional agencies, including the Ocean County Utilities Authority, the Southern Ocean County Municipal Utilities Authority, the Ocean County Board of Health, the Ocean County Board of Social Services, and the Ocean County Mosquito Extermination Commission, as special counsel for redevelopment and environmental compliance matters for the Ocean County Board of Commissioners, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and multiple school boards across Ocean, Monmouth, and Burlington Counties.
