This October, Liberty Science Center in Jersey City will have two different LSC After Dark events focusing on all things scary — an adults-only nights that turn the museum into a mix of science playground, dance party, and Halloween haunt.
When the sun goes down, the Science Center transforms into a vibrant nightlife spot where guests can sip cocktails, dance to live DJs, and explore exhibits without the kids. Each event has its own theme, complete with creative drinks, food, and special entertainment.
From 6 to 10 PM on select Thursdays, adults 18 and older can explore the museum’s exhibits in a whole new light. Whether it’s climbing the Infinity Climber, checking out live demonstrations, or catching a show in the planetarium, the night blends learning with entertainment. Bars throughout the museum serve themed drinks for guests 21 and over.
This month’s lineup embraces the spooky season:
“Fears” (October 9) gives guests a chance to face phobias, explore fear through science, and delve into themed experiences like Sex Ed (in a playful, adult context), The Flow Initiative (health & body topics), and even a black holes show or Michael Jackson laser set. Additionally, they’re bringing back the iconic My Chemical Romance laser show to the dome, which takes place at the largest planetarium in the western hemisphere.
For this event, take part in a brand-new haunted experience: the Tunnel of Terror. Rumor has it there are samples inside these mines worth up to $1,000… are you brave enough to try and retrieve them?
All Hallows’ Eve (October 30) doubles down on horror fun with Netflix haunted-house tie-ins, laser shows like Boo! A Halloween Laser Show, haunted universe planetarium shows, and live Halloween performances or guest narrators.
#LSCAfterDark: Fears on October 9 is your first chance to get an adults-only viewing of the Liberty Science Center’s brand-new premium exhibit, SUE: The T. rex Experience! Be transported back to the Cretaceous and learn all about the ‘tyrant lizard king’ in this engaging and interactive exhibition
Tickets often sell out, so it’s best to grab them early. Parking is free, and the event runs rain or shine.
LSC After Dark is proof that science doesn’t have to be serious — especially when there are lasers, cocktails, and a little Halloween magic in the mix.
