New dining options are coming to Mercer on One in Lawrenceville.
Fast-casual soup dumpling joint Nan Xiang Express is preparing to make its New Jersey debut Oct. 18 at the Federal Realty Investment Trust-owned property.
The eatery serves a scaled-down version of the menu at its sister concept, Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, a Michelin-recommended restaurant in Queens, N.Y. Since debuting the express concept three years ago, the brand now has 12 locations across the U.S.
Offerings include soup dumplings (xiao long bao) in pork, crab, chicken and more, as well as noodle soups, fried rice and stir-fried noodles. The chain has appetizers, pan-fried buns, steamed dumplings and fruit teas.
To celebrate the grand opening of its 2,817-square-foot location at Mercer on One, Nan Xiang Express has several promotions lined up for Oct. 16–18, including:
- Get $200 in extra credit when customers add $100, $200, $500 or $1,000 to their store card
- A buy-one, get-one free crispy pork chop rice coupon to guests who follow @Nanxiangexpress or leave a review on Google/Yelp
Additionally, the first 100 customers on Oct. 18 will receive a buy one, get one free vegetable spring roll.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
According to Federal Realty, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar anticipates opening its 3,634-square-foot restaurant by the end of October. It will mark the Japan-based chain’s sixth outpost in New Jersey.
Founded 48 years ago, Kura offers affordable, authentic Japanese dishes made with premium ingredients. Its menu of more than 140 dishes incudes sushi, noodles, tempura, sides and desserts that are free of artificial sweeteners, seasonings, preservatives and colorings.
The technology-enabled restaurant also features a revolving sushi bar, tableside tablets for ordering and conveyor belt.
Globally, the chain has more than 600 sites. It entered the U.S. in 2008, where the brand has grown to 81 locations.
Since opening its first New Jersey site five years ago in Fort Lee, Kura has launched restaurants in Jersey City, Edison, Cherry Hill and Paramus. After Lawrenceville, Kura plans to open by May 2026 The District at 15Fifteen in Parsippany, a spokesperson recently told NJBIZ.
Shopping center revamp
Since rebranding the 551,000-square-foot shopping center from Mercer Mall to Mercer on One in fall 2023, Federal Realty has worked to curate a diverse mix of retail, dining and lifestyle options.
