Democrat Andrew Macurdy has launched a new digital ad promising leadership on gun violence prevention if he flips a State Assembly seat in the 21st legislative district.
In “Common Sense,” Macurdy, a former federal and state prosecutor, cites his experience in prosecuting shooting case in a fifteen-second ad.
He calls out the incumbents, Nancy Muñoz (R-Summit) and Michele Matsikoudis (R-New Providence), for failing to back gun safety measures, although he stops short of using their names.
“Having served as a prosecutor at all levels of government in New Jersey, I am acutely aware of the need for having reasonable gun violence prevention measures in place. The incumbents have abstained on votes to ban large capacity ammo magazines and voted against practical limitations on the public carrying of firearms,” Macurdy said. “We need champions in the Legislature who will craft smart, legal gun safety policy and work every day to keep our families safe.”
Script: “(Marcurdy) As a prosecutor, I’ve seen firsthand the effects of shootings on communities. Yet, the state reps from our district fail to support common-sense measures to reduce gun violence. It’s time for a change. Vote Macurdy for Assembly, November 4th.
