The basics:
- Tacoria moves Paramus restaurant to Bergen Town Center mall
- New location opens Oct. 30 with indoor, outdoor, takeout & delivery
- Relocation creates 20 full- and part-time jobs
- Ribbon cutting set for Nov. 7 with giveaways for first 100 guests
Tacoria Mexican Street Kitchen is relocating its Paramus outpost to Bergen Town Center.
Scheduled to begin welcoming customers Oct. 30, the storefront will offer indoor dining, as well as pick-up and delivery via third-party platforms. The site features some seats for eating outdoors, too.
Four Rutgers alumni founded Tacoria nine years ago in New Brunswick. The eatery serves tacos, burritos and other Mexican items prepared from scratch daily.
The fast-casual chain has gone on to add locations in Cherry Hill, Edgewater, Hoboken, Jersey City, Marlton, Montclair, Morristown, Piscataway, Ridgewood and Princeton. Looking ahead, Tacoria expects to open in Summit, Freehold and Somerville next year. Its menu includes burrito boxes for $10.95, hand-crafted tacos for $4.60, Mexican street corn for $4.95 and crispy flour tortillas drizzled in Nutella for $5.50.
Tacoria made its Paramus debut in early 2021 at Paramus Crossroads. The Advance Realty Investors-owned commercial property is located on Route 17.
During a recent interview with NJBIZ, Tacoria co-founder Vishal Patel said, “We always liked Bergen Town Center mall and that location. When we first opened our Paramus location, those sites were not available. So, we always kept an eye on it. We had a great opportunity to kind of pop up and we seized it.
“We had a great five-year run here in our current location on 17. And I think it’s going to be just easier for our guests to get in and out of that mall as opposed to Route 17. If you miss the exit, it’s like a 10-minute trip to get back. So, I think it’ll just be better for business.”

‘One taco at a time’
Considered Urban Edge Properties‘ flagship retail destination, Bergen Town Center has a lineup that generates more than 11 million visits annually.
At the outlet mall, Tacoria takes over space formerly occupied by Sprint and across from Mediterranean-inspired restaurant chain Cava Grill.
According to Tacoria, the new spot will bring 20 full- and part-time jobs to the community. It is open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

On the roster
Bergen Town Center features 70-plus tenants, including:
- Whole Foods Market
- CVS Pharmacy
- Nordstrom Rack
- Marshalls
- Nike
- Adidas
- Bluestone Lane
- Cava
- Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse
- Target
- Old Navy
To celebrate its arrival, Tacoria will hold a Nov. 7 gathering featuring an 11:30 a.m. ribbon cutting and giveaways to customers who sign up as rewards members through the chain’s app. The first 100 guests will receive a free burrito box, limited-edition t-shirt and other branded swag, the chain said.
As part of its mission to give back, Tacoria offers a standing 50% discount to all first responders every day. The chain also says it builds relationships with local organizations and has donated over 100,000 tacos to community members across New Jersey over the past two years.
Patel said, “Paramus is an exciting community for us because Bergen Town Center is such a vibrant hub for families, shoppers, and food lovers. We’re thrilled to share our food and mission with North Jersey and look forward to building meaningful connections, one taco at a time.”
