An Essex County man who tried to vote early this morning because of a bomb threat at his polling location will get to vote after all, even though his job in New York will keep him there until after 8 PM.
Superior Court Judge Damian Santomauro signed an order this afternoon allowing a volunteer ballot bearer to bring the man’s ballot to New York and then deliver it to the Board of Elections office in Newark by 8 PM.
The voter stated that when he arrived at a local school, which serves as his polling location, before 8 AM, police officers informed him that the polling place had been shut down. He said he waited about 30 minutes before he needed to go to work.
Attorney General Matt Platkin and Lt. Governor/Secretary of State Tahesha Way said today that there were emailed threats in seven New Jersey counties.

Voters who feel they are being wrongfully disenfranchised have the right to make their case to a judge. This can be done remotely and arranged through the county Board of Elections.
