Tim Hortons is expanding in Ocean County, following placement by The Goldstein Group in Forked River.
According to a Nov. 24 announcement from the Paramus-based full-service commercial brokerage, the Canadian multinational coffeehouse and restaurant chain will take over the former White Castle space at 245 N. Main St. The 2,000-square-foot freestanding property also features a drive-thru.
The Goldstein Group President Chuck Lanyard and Executive Vice President Mark Handwerker represented the landlord, Sunrise Pointe LP, in the transaction. NAI Dileo Bram & Co. Vice President Jennifer Harrison assisted the tenant.
According to a past social media post from White Castle, the location closed Dec. 24, 2024.
The Goldstein Group says the new Tim Hortons will offer a “cozy” interior for guests in addition to the drive-thru option.
‘Another milestone’
Tim Hortons dates to 1964. The largest restaurant chain in the Great White North offers signature coffee and espresso beverages, Timbits (picture a Munchkin from Dunkin’), breakfast sandwiches and lunch options.
The Main Street location offers a prominent spot in a thriving retail corridor, The Goldstein Group said. The location offers high visibility, as well as easy access to major roadways. It joins area retailers included The Home Depot, Wendy’s, TJ Maxx, Burger King, Mattress Firm, Chipotle, TD Bank, Dunkin’, Mavis Discount Tires, Taco Bell, Popeyes and Wells Fargo.
“The new store, marks another milestone in the brand’s continued expansion across the United States,” noted Goldstein. “We are proud to have played a key role in helping Tim Hortons establish its presence in Lacey-Forked River. This opening is a testament to the strong demand for Tim Hortons in New Jersey and further solidifies the brand’s position as a leader in the quick-service restaurant sector.”
Tim Hortons did not immediately return a request for additional details about its presence in the Garden State or a delivery timeline for the Forked River location.
Earlier this month, The Goldstein Group also announced placing Express Casino Car Wash and Lube at 3974 Route 1 in Monmouth Junction. In that instance, as well, the firm secured a tenant for a vacant space.
“The former car wash and lube facility had been closed for a while and we were able to find a new operator to reopen the facilities,” noted Principal Neil Goldstein at the time.
Additionally, a late October announcement revealed a new McDonald’s underway in Oakland. That site is anticipated to debut in early 2026.
