California-based healthy food café concept Vitality Bowls is adding a third spot in New Jersey.
The brand signed a franchise deal with husband-wife team Hardik and Unnati Mistry. Now, it expects to open in Clifton during the first half of 2026, according to a press release.
The superfood café concept stems from Roy and Tara Gilad’s search to find safe, healthy food alternatives after discovering their daughter’s severe food allergies. It offers a menu of quick meals made with clean, high-quality ingredients, such as acai bowls, smoothies, juices, salads, grain bowls, wraps and toasts.
Now, with more than 126 locations open or in development, the chain ranks as one of the fastest-growing franchises in the U.S. by Entrepreneur, Inc. 5000, Franchise Times and Fast Casual.
Commenting on the planned launch in Clifton, Hardik Mistry said, “Opening a Vitality Bowls café is a natural extension of my passion for health, wellness and helping others live better lives.”
A self-described entrepreneur with a background in IT, customer service and operations, Hardik Mistry added, “When the opportunity to own a Vitality Bowls came up, I was immediately drawn to the brand’s mission of serving nutritious, high-quality food that fuels both body and mind.
“My goal is to create a welcoming space here in Clifton where guests can enjoy delicious, clean meals, supported by a strong team and consistent, top-tier service.”

According to a spokesperson, a lease has not yet been signed in Clifton. However, the team is working to find the right real estate.
Tara Gilad shared, “Hardik and Unnati are the perfect duo to grow Vitality Bowls’ presence in Clifton. Their background in customer service, paired with their passion for health and wellness, makes them an excellent fit for our mission to make nutritious eating more attainable for all. Hardik and Unnati truly reflect the heart of what Vitality Bowls stands for, and we can’t wait to see the lasting impact their new superfood café will have in the community.”
After opening New Jersey’s first Vitality Bowls two years ago in Harrison, married couple Amit and Geeta Patel added another outpost last spring in Hackensack.
