Brendan Gill Wins Backing of the Essex County Democratic Committee in CD-11

At a virtual convention, Brendan Gill tonight won the backing of the Essex County Democratic Committee in his pursuit of the CD-11 seat vacated by Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill.

Gill has the support of the committee for the Essex portion of the 11th District in a 13-person special election scheduled for February 5th.

As Commissioner-at-Large, Gill represents all 22 municipalities in Essex County. He is serving his fifth term on the ECBCC and is a lifelong resident of Montclair.

Beyond his work at the county level, Gill was the architect of Governor Phil Murphy’s historic 2017 campaign and has served as a senior advisor to U.S. Senators Cory Booker and Frank Lautenberg, as well as Congressmen Bill Pascrell and Steve Rothman.
