A 61-year-old pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night in Jersey City, authorities said.

The Jersey City man was hit about 9:15 p.m. near the corner of Mallory and Communipaw avenues, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said.
He was taken to an area hospital and remains in critical condition Tuesday, officials said.
The driver stopped at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the prosecutor’s office and Jersey City police.
