Bob’s Discount Furniture is preparing to unveil a new showroom in South Jersey.
Located at 230 Consumer Square in Mays Landing, the 33,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open Jan. 16, 2026, according to the value-driven chain.
The soon-to-launch store will replace an existing Bob’s about a mile away at 4403 Black Horse Pike.
Founded in 1991, Bob’s is known for offering low prices on furniture, mattresses and home accents. The chain’s promise of delivering a low-pressure shopping experience also features in-store cafés with complimentary snacks.
Over the past three decades, Bob’s has grown beyond its Connecticut roots to 200-plus stores across 26 states.
Besides Mays Landing, Bob’s’ local footprint includes locations in Bridgewater, Cherry Hill, Deptford, Eatontown, Freehold, Monmouth Junction, Paramus, Piscataway, Secaucus, Toms River and Totowa.

As part of a broader expansion strategy, Bob’s has been busy adding nearly two dozen spots this year in existing markets, including New York, Pennsylvania and California, as well as new states, such as Vermont and North Carolina.
Bob’s also recently ranked No. 7 on NJBIZ sister publication Furniture Today’s Top 100 U.S. Furniture Stores list. According to Furniture Today, it marked the chain’s highest placement to date.
Grand opening festivities next month at the new Mays Landing outpost will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and $5,000 check presentations to a local nonprofit and school, according to a spokesperson.
At Consumer Square, Bob’s is taking over space left vacant in the wake of discount retail chain Christmas Tree Shops’ 2023 bankruptcy.
It will join a tenant mix that includes Target, Five Below, Dick’s Sporting Goods, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Kohl’s, Best Buy, Burlington, Old Navy and Staples.
