Of the best independent bakeries and dessert shops in the U.S. to pick up sweets for the holidays, New Jersey is home to three spots, according to a new ranking from DoorDash.
To help make it easier to find those fan-favorite businesses that offer on-demand delivery, the platform generated its first-ever “Rising Stars: The Holiday Dessert 50” roundup.
Based on DoorDash data from January through October, the merchants included in the compilation have the highest average customer ratings, fewer than 10 locations and at least 500 customer reviews, DoorDash said.
Released Dec. 11, the list includes the following New Jersey businesses:
The ranking also showcased several larger national chains in the DoorDash network that have a presence in New Jersey, such as Crumbl, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Paris Baguette and 85°C Bakery Café.
Commenting on the roundup, DoorDash Head of U.S. Restaurants Ruth Isenstadt said, “The holidays call for simple joys – and that includes dessert. The Holiday Dessert 50 celebrates the neighborhood spots that anchor their communities with sweetness and creativity. This season, convenience is a gift in itself, and we’re proud to help people enjoy their favorite sweets on-demand while also supporting local small businesses.”
