Optimum announced Dec. 15 a new $40 million investment to expand its 100% fiber-to-the-home network across New Jersey.
The latest follows nearly $200 million the company has invested in its Garden State network over the past two years.
The new deployment makes Optimum‘s fiber internet, mobile, TV and phone services available for the first time to thousands of residents and businesses in Woodbridge, Clark and Linden. The company said service will soon extend to Winfield, Rahway and Roselle. Meanwhile, Carteret and Perth Amboy are slated for fiber deployment and service availability by spring 2026.
Optimum’s fiber network offers symmetrical speeds of up to 8 gigabits, positioning it as the fastest and most reliable internet in the state, according to Ookla Speedtest data.
The company cited growing demand for high-speed connectivity, noting that one-third of Americans increased their internet usage in the past year and now spend an average of more than 10 hours online each day – which is 41% of their day.
“As Optimum offers its 100% Fiber Internet Network to more communities across New Jersey, we are proud to invest in the future of this vibrant state,” said Elton Hart, vice president and general manager of Optimum Tri-State. “Our commitment goes beyond delivering the fastest, most reliable internet; it’s about empowering local residents and businesses with the technology and support they need to thrive, today and for years to come. We look forward to being a true partner to more New Jersey communities as we continue expanding connectivity and fostering positive change throughout the Garden State.”
