Chrissy Buteas has been a fixture in state public policy circles for two decades. Most NJBIZ readers recall her stint as the chief government affairs officer of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, a role she held from 2018 to 2022. Buteas also led the NEW JOBS PAC, New Jersey’s largest and most influential ideological business political action committee.
Before joining NJBIA, she served as president and CEO of the Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey. In that role, she represented New Jersey home health agencies, hospices, and health care service firms that provide care to the state’s Medicare, Medicaid and private-pay patients. Buteas was also a regulatory policy specials with the Board of Public Utilities. Additionally she is a former borough council member in South Plainfield.
Last year, she joined he Healthcare Institute of New Jersey as president and CEO. The trade association represents biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies. In November, Buteas delivered a well-received keynote address the NJBIZ Women’s Leadership Summit.
