Stronger Fairer Forward, a non-profit group connected to outgoing Gov. Phil Murphy, has launched a six-figure ad buy aimed at promoting the legacy of the two-term Democratic governor as he prepares to leave office
The 30-second ad begins with a clip from Murphy’s 2018 inauguration and his narrated by the two-term governor, who touts some of his accomplishments, including higher wages and rebuilding trust in the state’s finances – a simpler way of explaining that the state’s general obligation bond ratings increased considerably from what he inherited from his predecessor, Republican Chris Christie.
“Governor Murphy is who he said he’d be and did exactly as he promised in building a stronger and fairer New Jersey that works for every family,” said Dan Bryan, a former top aide to the governor who runs the 501(c)(4). “With more jobs than ever, higher wages, and massive property tax relief, his record of delivering for the people of New Jersey is clear. “
Script: “(Murphy at 2018 inauguration) They voted to build a stronger and fairer New Jersey that works for… (Murphy today) “…every New Jersey family. Today, there are more jobs. Higher wage. Record property tax relief. New businesses growing. Innovation blossoming. World-class schools. We’ve rebuilt trust in our finances and always protected our values. We made progress and made lives better. All because of this: We did what we said we’d do.”
The ad will begin running today on multiple platforms and continue through January 16.
“Governor Murphy never wavered, never shifted course with the political winds, and remained constant for his eight years,” said Murphy. “Stronger Fairer Forward is proud to do our part to help educate the public about his issue agenda, frame his incredible legacy for the Garden State, and provide ways to keep the state moving forward.”
