Prager Metis has a global reach, more than 100 partners and principals, and over 600 overall team members. And as of Jan. 5, it is welcoming new leadership, with Basking Ridge-based Lori Roth as chief executive officer.
As CEO, Roth will lead and provide strategic planning for the extensive Prager Metis team, overseeing firm growth strategy and initiatives. She also plays a key role in developing goals and policies, monitoring performance and driving growth.
Additionally, the accounting and advisory firm announced Stuart Mayer as chief operating officer.
Roth is a stalwart in the industry, within the Garden State and beyond. A resident honoree on NJBIZ Power Finance (and formerly Power Accounting) lists, she has most recently also earned distinction as 2025 Leader in Finance and 2024 Leading Women in Business honoree. At Prager Metis, she previously served as global managing partner and executive committee member.
As COO, Mayer will oversee daily firm operations. Prager Metis said he will drive improvements across workflows, service delivery and internal systems to enhance productivity and profitability. Mayer previously served as Northeast Regional managing partner and executive committee member at the firm.

“With this leadership team in place, we are well-positioned to execute our long-term strategy and elevate our operational capabilities,” said Glenn Friedman, chairman of the board and former CEO of the firm. “Both Lori and Stu’s leadership have been central to our firm’s growth, and we are confident they will guide Prager Metis into our next chapter with clarity, discipline, and vision.”
Forward facing
Beyond running 24 offices worldwide, Prager Metis also operates in the metaverse. The firm works across a large swath of industries, including asset management, entertainment & music, construction, high-net-worth, health care, public companies, fashion and more. Its services include audit & accounting, business management, international services and tax controversy.
Last fall, Roth shared her insights on leadership as a panelist at the 2025 NJBIZ Women’s Leadership Summit.

“We’re always trying to keep the balls in the air, all the balls in the air. In reality, sometimes the ball is going to drop,” she shared during the event. “And it’s up to us to make sure that it’s the rubber ball that drops and not the crystal ball. It’s all about prioritizing. It’s all about setting ourselves on that path to make sure that the crystal ball doesn’t drop.
“At different points in our life, at different points in our career, it’s different things that are the priority.”
On her elevation, Roth said she was honored to step into the role and continue building. “Our success has always come from our team and our commitment to delivering exceptional value to clients. I’m excited to lead Prager Metis into our next phase of growth,” she said.
Accounting Today ranked Prager Metis at No. 60 on its 2025 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $128.92 million in revenue.
Mayer said, “I’m energized to step into the COO role at such a pivotal moment for Prager Metis.
“Lori’s vision for our future is inspiring, and I’m committed to ensuring our operations continue to empower our people and elevate the client experience. Together, we will strengthen our foundation, enhance our capabilities, and drive the firm toward new opportunities for growth.”
