Tommy’s Tavern & Tap is growing its presence in North Jersey.
Over the next year, the Jersey Shore-born regional restaurant chain plans to open spots at Urban Edge Properties-owned centers in Ledgewood and Paramus.
The concept expects to launch by the end of 2026 in Ledgewood, Urban Edge said. Tommy’s Tavern & Tap signed a lease agreement for a 9,160-square-foot space at Ledgewood Commons. At Bergen Town Center in Paramus, the eatery anticipates a Spring 2027 opening. It will occupy a newly built, 10,000-square-foot outpost on pad site adjacent to an Olive Garden restaurant, the firm said.
The late Thomas “Tommy” Bonfiglio and his wife, Yvette Bonfilgio, founded Tommy’s Tavern & Tap in 2015 in Sea Bright. After, the spot quickly became known for its specialty wings, burgers, coal-fired pizza, sushi, salads and sandwiches. It also offers an extensive craft beer menu, whiskey selections and specialty cocktails.
The family-owned business has since expanded to 15 other locations across three states. Locally, it operates in Wayne, Freehold, Clifton, Bridgewater, Edison, Princeton, Morris Plains, Mount Laurel, Cherry Hill, Edgewater and Sea Girt.
A site is coming this spring to a former TGI Fridays in Toms River, too.
A ‘Jersey-born favorite’
Urban Edge Vice President of Leasing Joshua Birns shared, “Tommy’s Tavern has cultivated a dedicated local following, and we are confident that introducing this New Jersey-born favorite — with its elevated atmosphere and exceptional menu—to our centers will attract new visitors.”
Located at the junction of Routes 46 and 10, the recently redeveloped Ledgewood Commons’ lineup also includes Ulta, DSW, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, Five Guys, Burlington, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Marshalls, Old Navy, Wendy’s, Five Below, Panda Express, Pop-eyes Louisiana Kitchen and Walmart.
Considered Urban Edge’s flagship retail destination, Bergen Town Center’s tenant mix includes Whole Foods Market, H&M, Ulta, First Watch, Target, Nordstrom Rack, CVS, World Market, Burlington, Cava, Bluestone Lane, HomeGoods, Capon’s Burgers, Miller’s Alehouse, Old Navy, Nike Factory Store, Tacoria Mexica Street Kitchen, Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Marshalls.
