JLL is expanding leadership ranks in the Tri-State region, adding Joseph Caridi to oversee markets including New York City, Long Island, Connecticut/Westchester and New Jersey.
According to the Jan. 12 announcement, the addition comes at a critical time, helping to position the firm as a local leader through a new growth period.
Based in JLL‘s New York office, Caridi will report to Tri-State Brokerage President Michael Colacino.
The new hire brings more than three decades of commercial real estate leadership to JLL — most of it, according to the company, in the Tri-State. Most recently, he served as managing principal for South Florida at Cushman & Wakefield. In that role, JLL said he led a team of more than 450 professionals across four major markets.

Peter Rigaurdi, chairman and president of the New York region for JLL, described the move as a strategic hire during a pivotal moment of opportunity. “Joe has deep experience supporting talent and managing growth, and this move further positions JLL to meet increasing client demand as we advance our position in the commercial real estate services landscape,” he said.
Colacino added, “His ability to build world-class teams will ensure we continue to deliver exceptional client outcomes in the most dynamic real estate market in the world.”
Welcome back, Caridi
Caridi’s work history also includes serving as chief operating officer for the Tri-State Region at Colliers International. Earlier, he served as executive director at Newmark Knight Frank, managing the New Jersey brokerage operation. Eventually he oversaw brokerage and advisory services for the entire Tri-State at what is now Newmark. Meanwhile, at Reckson Associates Realty Corp., JLL said Caridi completed over 900 transactions totaling more than 10 million square feet.
“I am excited to return my focus to the Tri-State region and to join a firm with the platform, talent, and vision of JLL,” said Caridi. “The market is rewarding decisive, well-advised strategies, and I look forward to working with Michael and the entire team to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional value to our clients.”
Caridi earned his Juris Doctor from the City University of New York School of Law at Queens College. He is a licensed real estate broker in New York, Connecticut and Florida.
