EMMITSBURG, Md. — Xavier Lipscomb scored 20 points as Mount St. Mary’s overcame a hot start from Rider to win 71-61 on Saturay.
Lipscomb shot 7 of 8 (4 of 5 from 3-point range) for the Mountaineers (9-13, 5-6). Arlandus Keyes scored 16 points while going 6 of 10 (4 of 7 from 3-point range) and added five assists. Trey Deveaux had 13 points and shot 4 of 10 from the field.
Zion Cruz finished with 22 points for the Broncs (2-17, 1-9). Rider got 20 points, four assists and three steals from Flash Burton. Shemani Fuller had 11 rebounds, eight points and two blocks.
The Broncs trailed, 48-47, midway through the second half before the Mount outscored them 23-14 the remainder of the way.
TCNJ 81, Kean 77
UNION — The senior trio of Nick Kock, Matthew Solomon and Jonathan Okocha combined for 54 points and the Lions (13-5, 8-3) clawed their way past the Cougars (9-9, 6-5).
Kock scored a game-high 25 points, Solomon collected another double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds and Okocha made a trio of treys on his way to 17 points.
Former West Windsor North standout Malachi Jeffers-Viera led Kean with 21 points.
Women’s Basketball
Princeton 58, Brown 49
PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Fadima Tall scored 12 points and No. 20 Princeton won its 15th consecutive game, defeating Brown.
Princeton led 47-43 halfway through the fourth quarter before Tall and Olivia Hutcherson led a quick six-point run that gave the Tigers a 54-43 lead with 3 1/2 minutes left in the game. Skye Belker hit four free throws in the final minute to close out the victory.
Belker finished with 11 points, and Toby Nweke added 10 for Princeton (17-1, 5-0). Tall grabbed eight rebounds and Ashley Chea had seven assists.
Grace Arnolie, the Ivy League scoring leader at 18.6 points per game, scored 14 points and Alyssa Moreland had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears (11-6, 3-2).
After trailing 15-9 through one quarter, the Tigers went on a 12-0 tear in the second quarter, holding Brown scoreless until Moreland’s layup with two minutes remaining in the half. Princeton led 24-20 at halftime.
Princeton fell behind 27-26 early in the third quarter, but a 14-0 run put them ahead 40-27 with about five minutes left. Brown was held scoreless for nearly 4 minutes before rallying to pull within six points heading into the fourth quarter.
Princeton’s No. 20 ranking is the program’s highest since the end of the 2014-15 season.
Saint Peter’s 55, Rider 46
JERSEY CITY — De’Naya Rippey scored 26 points and spearheaded a 17-7 fourth quarter run for the Peacocks (5-15, 4-7) in a victory over the Broncs. Kristina Ekofoa led Rider with 11 points.
TCNJ 76, Kean 37
UNION — Katie Fricker made six 3s on her way to 25 points and the Lions (9-9, 8-3) cruised to a victory over the Cougars (2-13, 2-9).
