Paladino’s fingerprints are all over New Brunswick. The president of New Brunswick Development Corp. – and HELIX CEO – has led DEVCO to complete projects in the city ranging from the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center and Rutgers Honor College to The Heldrich downtown, and many more. Ahead of a widely anticipated opening this year, Paladino helped bring the state’s first freestanding cancer hospital online in 2025. The Jack & Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, developed in partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute and RWJBarnabas Health, opened in June. The 12-story facility features 520,000 square feet of cutting-edge space that aims to focus on patient experience, as well as care.
This year we can expect to see the debut of the first of three towers that will comprise the New Jersey Health + Life Science Exchange. At 12 stories, HELIX H-1’s more than 573,000 square feet will house the New Jersey Innovation HUB, research laboratories for Rutgers University’s translational research effort and a new medical education facility for the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Currently underway as well, H-2 will add a 10-story, 350,000-square-foot tower to house Nokia Bell Labs’ new HQ. And ahead, H-3 was cleared for up to $359 million in Aspire tax credits last fall. That project includes 265 residential units, with 53 affordable; the Rutgers WINLAB & ESRG Research Facilities; more than 178,000 square feet of office space for Middlesex County; and the Rutgers School of Medicine Student Housing live-and-learn experience. According to Paladino, “By the end of 2028, the HELIX will encompass 1.5 million square feet, representing an investment of over $2 billion.”
