Ryan Goldstein‘s pin at 126 pounds put fourth-seeded Immaculata ahead to stay as the fourth-seeded Spartans won the final seven bouts to defeat fifth-seeded DePaul 49-23 in the NJSIAA/IBEW Local 102 Non-Public B quarterfinals in Somerville.
Immaculata (17-6) will face top-seeded Camden Catholic in the semifinals. The Spartans lost to the Irish 51-23 in last year’s semifinals.
Jack Finkelstein won by fall with just six seconds left in the 120-pound bout to give DePaul a 23-18 lead, but it was all Immaculata from there.
Derek Sutphen (132), Ryan O’Neill (138) and Landan Riddell (144) followed Goldstein’s pin with decisions. Nate Keller (150) added a major and Rhett Washleski (157) earned a pin before the match ended with a forfeit.
Aiden Thompson (190) notched a pin earlier in the match for the Spartans.
Max Georges (285) had a pin and Dominic Coppola (113) won by tech fall for DePaul (13-10).
