Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth has reached a new milestone, posting its first job openings.
The listings come as development of the $1 billion studio project moves forward at the site of the shuttered former U.S. Army base. Initial positions include roles such as director of studio operations and manager of studio site & services.
It marks the first wave of hiring for the forthcoming facility. Netflix says it will continue to grow the team as it moves closer to opening.
“These first few jobs at Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth are a small but meaningful step in our commitment to New Jersey’s production renaissance,” said Anne Kelly, vice president of studio management and services at Netflix in a Feb. 23 statement.
“In addition to our $1 billion investment in the facility, we’re already actively filming across the state — creating more employment and expanding economic opportunities for the local creative community, its workforce, and surrounding businesses,” she continued.
As NJBIZ has previously reported, the streaming giant and studio committed that investment to transform the 292-acre former Fort Monmouth property into a major East Coast production hub. The project is designed to anchor New Jersey’s growing film and television industry. The planned studio campus will include large-scale soundstages as well as production facilities. It is expected to generate significant long-term job creation while also supporting area businesses and the broader state economy.
Fort Monmouth’s sequel
The project also represents a renaissance for Fort Monmouth, which closed in 2011 after 94 years of U.S. Army operations.
The newly posted roles, available here, help move the needle on this highly anticipated project for Monmouth County and the Garden State.
The hiring push comes just weeks after Netflix finalized its purchase of the property. Demolition is underway.
The redevelopment project broke ground in May 2025. Built in phases, the first phase of soundstages will potentially open by 2027. Netflix expects full completion of the 12-stage facility in 2028.
