RIPCO Real Estate will lease space in a new retail strip rising at the grocery-anchored Wiebel Plaza in Sussex County.
RoNetco Supermarkets Inc. tapped the firm to exclusively market the addition at the 104,190-square-foot property located at 1 Wiebel Plaza at Route 23 in Wantage Township/Sussex Borough.
According to the March 10 announcement, the brokerage will look to build out the tenant mix at the neighborhood shopping center, complementing the existing ShopRite supermarket.
RoNetCo is also operator of the 86,500-square-foot grocery store, which opened in October 2023.
The addition will bring another 17,646 square feet of space to the site.
The new retail strip sits adjacent to Wiebel Plaza‘s 12,600-square-foot ShopRite Liquors. RIPCO said the endcap faces Route 23, providing excellent visibility and access. The 5,000-square-foot space is leasable to one tenant or divisible into two 2,500-square-foot spaces. Delivery is anticipated in June.
Target tenants
RIPCO Executive Vice President Curtis Nassau and Executive Managing Director Matt Grundy lead the leasing assignment.
Nassau said the availability presents a “terrific” opportunity for users looking to capitalize on “the daily-needs, everyday traffic generated by ShopRite.” He went onto say many consider the banner one of the strongest shopping center anchors today.
Earlier this year, Nassau was part of a team that helped bring Saddle Brook Mall to full occupancy.

According to Placer.ai data referenced by RIPCO, this Sussex County Wiebel Plaza grocery store traffics average weekly visits of more than 21,000. Beyond the ShopRite banners, additional tenants also include True Value Hardware.
Grundy noted the location along Route 23, “one of Sussex County’s primary north-south corridors.” This allows Wiebel Plaza to draw both local as well as regional shoppers from elsewhere in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, he said.
The shopping center serves a desirable trade area with average household incomes exceeding $130,000 within a 5-mile radius.
