The Stockton University Board of Trustees awarded President Joe Bertolino a new three-year contract at its Dec. 3 meeting.
Bertolino took the helm as Stockton’s sixth president in 2023. The new contract begins July 1, 2026, and includes an option for a one-year extension.
In his two years leading the institution, Bertolino has overseen several major initiatives, such as:
He has received several regional and national honors, including the NASPA Region II President’s Award and the MBCA 2024 Education Appreciation Award, as well as landing on the NJBIZ Education Power List.
“President Bertolino has proven himself to be a steady, compassionate and visionary leader for Stockton University,” said Jose Lozano, trustees chair. “His deep commitment to student success, inclusive excellence and community partnerships reflect the very best of who we are as an institution.”
“I’m honored and deeply grateful to the Board of Trustees for their continued trust and support,” said Bertolino. “Serving as president of Stockton University is a privilege, and I remain committed to leading with care, integrity and purpose.
