Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill (D-Montclair), continuing to make inroads into the Morris County portion of the 11th congressional district, got an endorsement today from Boonton Town Councilmember Benjamin Weisman.
“Brendan Gill has been a visible and trusted presence in our community for years, long before he decided to run for Congress,” Weisman said in a statement. “In my work with him, I’ve seen firsthand how he asks questions, listens carefully, and follows through. I’m proud to support him as he brings that same dedication to Congress.”
Gill previously got endorsements from two township councilmen in Rockaway Township, in the district’s western reaches; he was also endorsed yesterday by the 23-year-old chairman of the Morris County Progressive Caucus.
The broader Morris County Democratic organization, though, has aligned behind a different candidate: former Rep. Tom Malinowski, who convincingly won the Morris Democratic convention earlier this week (Gill came in second).
