As part of an ongoing expansion effort across the Northeast, Wonder expects to add three more locations in New Jersey this spring.
According to the fast-growing food hall and delivery concept’s website, planned openings include:
- Wayne – 1627 Route 23 (March)
- Ocean Township – 2105 Route 35 (April)
- Emerson – 484 Kinderkamack Road (May)
Billionaire entrepreneur Marc Lore founded Wonder in 2018. The concept originally revolved around mobile kitchens that prepared chef-designed meals outside customers’ homes. But in 2023, the company shifted to physical locations featuring options from restaurants it has licensing deals with.
At Wonder’s roughly 90 locations, customers can order from a collection of nearly two dozen acclaimed chefs and eateries. Everything is made-to-order for delivery, pickup or limited dining in.
To support its growth goals, Wonder has raised more than $2 billion. It is reportedly valued at more than $7 billion, but Lore has said he thinks that it could be worth as much as $40 billion within the next three years.
Along with increasing its brick-and-mortar footprint to 1,000 locations by 2029, Wonder is reportedly preparing for the launch of its IPO sometime in 2028, Chain Store Age recently reported.
Wonder – which has its R&D facility in Parsippany – has made several key acquisitions over the past two-and-a-half years, such as meal kit provider Blue Apron for $103 million, on-demand delivery platform Grubhub for $650 million and Sweetgreen’s automated kitchen technology business Spyce for $186.4 million.
