Six Flags is unveiling fresh upgrades and additions at its Jackson theme parks for the 2026 season.
Ahead of the grand reopening of Great Adventure amusement park and Wild Safari animal park, the operator is highlighting several changes designed to make each guest’s day “smoother, more immersive and even more exciting.”
According to Six Flags, those enhancements include newly installed sections of track on the El Toro roller coaster “for a smoother ride experience.” Additionally, it added more than 600 new Wi-Fi access points to ensure visitors have stronger app performance, easier communication with their groups and better content sharing while on property.
The park also built a new Main Street main stage to serve as a gathering space for performances, seasonal events and special programming.
Six Flags Executive Chef Jeremy Hacker is refreshing dining experiences to emphasize scratch-made ingredients, creative menus and faster service. Along with reimagining Best of the West into a barbecue-focused concept, the park added a walk-up format to Main Street Pub.
On the Boardwalk
A transformation of Six Flag’s New Jersey shorefront-inspired midway is nearing completion, too. As one of the most prominent parts of the park, the Boardwalk is home to high-profile attractions such as Superman: Ultimate Flight.

Currently slated to open by late spring, the refreshed area will feature new ride attractions, classic boardwalk food and drinks, games and more, the operator said.
The changes are part of a multiyear investment plan that includes construction of a new roller coaster. While the theme park originally expected to debut the attraction this year, it has since pushed the timeline back to 2027.
Construction is underway on a new “multi-world-record-breaking launch roller coaster.” According to Six Flags, the first sections of track arrived last month.
Opening days
Six Flags Great Adventure theme park and Wild Safari animal park will both open March 28 with a weekend-only schedule through Memorial Day weekend. After May 29, Great Adventure and Wild Safari will welcome guests seven days a week until Labor Day weekend.
Hurricane Harbor water park will open May 23 for the season. It will also wind down after Labor Day. Additionally, limited stays will begin April 3 at Six Flags’ Savannah Sunset Resort and Spa.

On March 27, Six Flags will host an exclusive season passholder preview night from 5–9 p.m. The evening includes early access to select rides and a look at seasonal offerings debuting this spring.
The 2026 kickoff also features a new Safari Spring Break Celebration from March 28 to April 12. During the event, guests can experience up-close animal encounters, entertainment and “immersive photo opportunities,” the park said.
“The celebration coincides with the return of Safari Off-Road Adventure access from inside the amusement park. With more than 1,200 animals from six continents, including elephants, rhinos, tigers, giraffes and lions, this expansive safari experience is included with theme park admission for guests, passholders and members,” Six Flags said.
