Shah’s Halal Food is joining the lineup of dining options at MetLife Stadium.
As part of the agreement announced Sept. 12, the fast-casual brand is opening three locations throughout the East Rutherford-based venue, according to a press release.
Shah’s Halal will have a flagship stand in West Hall. Additionally, it will have two prime concourse locations at Sections 126 and 314.
The business got its start 20 years ago as a food cart in Queens, N.Y. Shah’s menu features fresh, flavorful food and includes heaping platters with either chicken, lamb or falafel, gyros and pakora chips.
Now a franchise business, Shah’s has over 118 locations across North America. Within New Jersey, the chain’s footprint includes stores in Bergenfield, Cliffside Park, North Brunswick, Paterson, Mahwah, Parlin, Edison and Brick.
Located in the Meadowlands, MetLife Stadium is the home of the New York Jets and New York Giants. The stadium is considered one of the busiest and highest grossing in the world. Currently, it is gearing up to host the FIFA World Cup 2026 next summer.
Shah’s CEO Khalid Mashriqi shared, “We are honored to bring our signature NYC style halal experience to one of the most iconic venues in sports and entertainment.”
“Our goal is to create an exceptional culinary journey for every fan and event guest, offering the same quality and authenticity that has made Shah’s Halal part of New York City’s food culture. This partnership allows us to serve our community at the highest level while introducing new guests to the rich flavors of traditional Halal food,” Mashriqi added.
Adding options
For MetLife Stadium, the partnership builds on a commitment to providing diverse, inclusive dining options that reflect the multicultural community it serves, according to Ron VanDeVeen, the venue’s president and CEO.
“We are thrilled to partner with Shah’s Halal to offer superior Halal food to our guests. We are always looking for ways to elevate the fan experience and are excited to expand our Middle Eastern culinary options through this great partnership,” he said.
