Fatal Crash Unit Detective Scott Hussey was contacted, responded to the scene, and began his investigation. Detective Hussey was assigned to lead the investigation with the assistance of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team. These detectives worked arduously to locate the vehicle, identify the driver, and obtain statements. Detective Hussey was found to have sufficient probable cause to generate a complaint charging the suspect with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury and Endangering an Injured Victim. Both charges are 3rd degree charges.
The suspect, Aiyona S. Reddon, of Burlington Township, turned herself in after Burlington Township Police made an attempt to serve her with the charges. Reddon subsequently arrived at Trenton Police Headquarters and was taken into custody without further incident. Reddon’s mother, Brenda Reddon, 55, also of Burlington Twp., was charged with Witness Tampering for her actions relating to this incident.
