Tom Madigan, Wyckoff committeeman, dies at 71

Tom Madigan, a Wyckoff township committeeman and former mayor, died today.  He was 71.

Madigan was appointed to the township committee in 2010 after David Connolly and won a three-year term in 2011.  He was the top vote-getter in a hotly contested Republiican primary last year. 

He also served twelve years as a trustee of the Ramapo Indian Hills Board of Education

“Tom dedicated his life to making Wyckoff a better place for families, students, and future generations,” said State Sen, Kristen Corrado (R-Totowa) and Assemblymen Chris DePhillips (R-Wyckoff) and Al Barlas (R-Cedar Grove).  “His legacy is one of service, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his neighbors.”

In a statement, the Wyckoff Township Committee said Madigans “ leadership, kindness, and devotion to the residents of Wyckoff leave a legacy that will not be forgotten.”

Madigan is survived by his wife, Mary, five childen, and nine grandchildren.  Two daughters predeceased him.
