The basics:
- Johnson & Johnson becomes Jets‘ Official Medical Innovation Sponsor
- Launch of Healthcare Hero program honors local health care workers monthly
- Partnership presents My Cause My Cleats initiative & health awareness campaigns
- PSA campaign ‘Stories of Strength’ encourages early screenings and healthy habits
The New York Jets and Johnson & Johnson announced a new multiyear sponsorship aimed at promoting better health in the local community.
Of course, New Jersey is home to both organizations. Johnson & Johnson has its global headquarters in New Brunswick. Meanwhile the Jets’ home base is in Florham Park — and it plays home games at MetLife Stadium. The partnership leverages those deep Jersey ties.
Under the agreement, Johnson & Johnson becomes the Jets’ Official Medical Innovation Sponsor as well as the presenting sponsor of the team’s My Cause My Cleats initiative. The sponsorship also introduces a monthly Healthcare Hero program. That initiative will highlight the lifesaving work of local health care workers.
“The Jets are honored to team up with Johnson & Johnson to recognize health care workers in our community that put in countless hours to protect all of us,” said Jets Senior Vice President of Business Development + Ventures Jeff Fernandez. “Through this meaningful sponsorship, we will be able to promote the importance of early screenings for critical illnesses, while showcasing the value in healthier lifestyle habits and then extending the awareness of health issues to Jets players’ personal support of the My Cause My Cleats program.”
Local heroes
The partnership kicked off with the Jets launching the “Stories of Strength” PSA campaign, featuring linebacker Quincy Williams.
In the campaign, Quincy and his brother, teammate Quinnen Williams, share their personal experiences with cancer. They also encourage early and frequent screenings, in honor of their late mother.

The Healthcare Hero initiative will recognize one local health care worker each month during Jets home games. Honorees will receive in-game recognition at MetLife Stadium. They will also feature in articles and digital content across the Jets’ website and social media channels.
Additionally, Johnson & Johnson and the Jets plan to integrate health awareness messaging throughout MetLife Stadium. Fans can expect exclusive signage, as well as “Protect Your Health” messages displayed during defensive redzone stands on the stadium videoboards.
As the presenting sponsor of the Jets’ “My Cause My Cleats” initiative, J&J will amplify and highlight players’ chosen causes and custom cleats through various media channels leading up to the Nov. 30 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

“Johnson & Johnson is dedicated to closing the gap between communities and care and has championed nurses and health care workers, the heart of the care system, for over a century,” the company said in its announcement of the partnership. “Through this sponsorship, the vital role of health care workers will be highlighted by the Jets, who will recognize a ‘Healthcare Hero’ at every home game.
“This initiative recognizes outstanding local health care workers and shares important health information with fans and residents.”
J&J and the Jets say the two organizations will collaborate on programs designed to educate, engage and empower the community around key health issues throughout the multiyear partnership.
