The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey will host a free webinar for employers, caregivers and parents on the risks of high-potency marijuana use at home and in the workplace.
As the cannabis market expands in the state’s legalized industry, the program is being offered as a way to explore concerns around those products, its effects on youth and implications for employee safety, the nonprofit organization said.
Scheduled for 11 a.m. Oct. 28, the one-hour event will feature Dr. Paige Williams, a medical toxicology and addiction medicine fellow at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and the New Jersey Poison Information and Education System, and Ryan Vandrey, a professor and researcher at Johns Hopkins University‘s Behavioral Pharmacology Research Unit and Cannabis Science Lab.
Moderated by WRNJ host and New Jersey Broadcasters Association Radio Hall of Fame inductee Bert Baron, the program will address topics such as:

New Jersey is one of 24 states nationwide where recreational marijuana is legal. State law bars employers from rejecting job applicants or firing workers for using cannabis on their own time. However, it does allow for termination of workers if they are impaired on the job.
