Five Below is marking the launch of its newest store in New Jersey by giving away gift cards.
Located at 625 Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, the budget-friendly retailer is scheduled to host a grand-opening event Nov. 1.
As part of the festivities, the first 100 guests lined up for the 10 a.m. opening will receive a $10 gift card, according to the chain. The event will also include music, kids’ activities and special prizes, Five Below said.
Founded 23 years ago in a Philadelphia suburb, Five Below sells trend-driven merchandise at everyday low prices across several categories, such as fashion, décor, sports, arts & crafts, celebrations and candy.
Its brick-and-mortar footprint of more than 1,800 stores across the U.S. includes 68 locations in New Jersey.
After opening a record 55 sites in 2024, Five Below aims to add 150 outposts by the end of this year in support of an ongoing expansion effort.
Opening doors
Over the past two months in New Jersey, the company added stores at Columbia Park Center in North Bergen and Legacy Square in Linden. Additionally, it announced plans to open at Blue Star Shopping Center in Watchung.
At Regency Centers-owned Plaza Square in Wayne, Five Below joins a tenant mix that includes Aldi, Retro Fitness, Wendy’s, Big Blue Swim School, T-Mobile, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, Kessler Physical Therapy and Music & Arts.
Following the store’s official opening Oct. 31, it will be open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
It marks Five Below’s third store in the township. The chain’s other sites are at Waynechester Plaza on Route 23 and Wayne Town Center on Willowbrook Boulevard.
