ALLENTOWN — The Allentown High girls soccer team put the disappointment of its loss in the CVC Tournament final behind it and began the state playoffs with a 5-0 victory over Manchester Township in a first round Central Group II match on Wednesday afternoon.
Katherine Brun gave the fourth-seeded Redbirds (17-3-1) the lead in the first half before the floodgates opened in the second half. Molly Malovich, Gabby Tate, Kaylee Feldman and Chelsea Faulkner were all on target.
Daniella DeCarlo stopped four shots for her 15th shutout.
Manchester Twp., the No. 13 seed, finished its season with an 8-11 record.
The Redbirds face fifth-seeded Spotswood, runner-up in the GMC Tournament, in a quarterfinal game on Saturday.

RUMSON — Jordyn Sullivan had a hat trick to bring her season total to 30 goals and the third-seeded Bulldogs (13-9) ended a tough season for the 14th-seeded Ravens (6-13-1).

HILLSBOROUGH — The 13th-seeded Pirates (9-8) took a 2-1 lead into halftime before fourth-seeded Hillsborough (8-10-1), sparked by a pair of goals from Alexa King, tallied three in the second half to advance.

BURLINGTON — The 11th-seeded Knights (7-9) won a playoff game for a second straight season, and once again it came against sixth-seeded Westampton Tech (11-7-1) in match played on Tuesday. North travels to third-seeded Freehold Borough in the quarterfinals.
