Plant-based fast casual chain Greens and Grains is launching an outpost on the campus of Rowan University in Glassboro.
Located on the ground floor of the Whitney Center student housing complex on Rowan Boulevard, the eatery is set to open Nov. 17 for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It will offer dine-in, pick-up and delivery options.
Founded in 2014 by husband-wife team Lambros and Nicole Psounos, the brand’s fresh, all-natural offerings include grain bowls, flatbreads, wraps, smoothies and other meal-alternative options.
The Ventnor-based business began franchising a year later and now has nine restaurants in Atlantic, Monmouth, Camden and Cape May counties, as well as a presence at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Within the next three to five years, Green and Grains hopes to add an additional 10 to 15 locations in the Mid-Atlantic region.
It also recently partnered up with Edison-based dairy-free products maker Tofutti Brands Inc. to launch an exclusive plant-based tzatziki sauce.
Following the grand opening, Glassboro will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
In a statement, Nicole Psounos said, “We’re so excited to bring Greens and Grains to Rowan University, offering healthier options on campus for students, faculty, visitors, and locals.”

At Rowan, Greens and Grains is taking over a space previously occupied by The Pierogie Place.
The family-run Ukrainian-style pierogi maker closed its sit-down location in late August as part of an effort to focus on expanding business at its walk-up spots in Wildwood and Philadelphia.
