Spirit Christmas is getting ready to sleigh the holiday season.
Since debuting the Christmas-themed pop-up two years ago with just a handful of locations across the Northeast, Egg Harbor Township-based Spencer Spirit Holdings Inc. has expanded the concept to spread more cheer.
This year, Spencer Spirit expects to open 43 spots in 15 states. That’s up from 30 outposts in 13 states for the 2025 holiday season.
Along with a vast assortment of holiday décor, apparel, inflatables, gifts and stocking stuffers, Spirit Christmas will include immersive in-store holiday-inspired displays.
Additionally, there will be free meet-and-greets with Santa Claus and photo packages available for purchase.
Locally, Spirit Christmas is slated to open shops in:
- Hamilton (former Bed Bath & Beyond)
- Marlton (former Best Buy Outlet)
- Riverdale (former JoAnn Fabrics)
- Rockaway (former Party City)
Outside of New Jersey, the company’s plans include:
- Two locations in Connecticut
- Four locations in Florida
- Four locations in Illinois
- Three locations in Indiana
- Three locations in Massachusetts
- One location in Maryland
- Four locations in Michigan
- One location in North Carolina
- Four locations in New York
- Four locations in Ohio
- Four locations in Pennsylvania
- One location in South Carolina
- Two locations in Tennessee
- Two locations in Virginia
Exact opening dates are not listed online, but the Spirit Christmas website notes the majority of stores will be open in November.
Spencer Spirit is also the parent company of Spirit Halloween.
The ramp-up of Spirit Christmas will come after the retailer winds down the 1,575 Spirit Halloween stores it launched nationwide this spooky season. The brand is considered the go-to place for costumes, props, accessories and decorations.
