Cane III, as seen on this sign at right (click the photo for a closer look), is Raising Cane’s current mascot. Founder and CEO Todd Graves named the chain after his yellow Labrador retriever, Raising Cane. Since then, the brand has carried on the mascot tradition, according to Raising Cane’s website.
Opening-day festivities will include a 9:05 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony and a drawing for 20 customers to win free food for a year. There will also be check presentations to the Jersey Shore Animal Center and Choose Love, Celebrate Life. Additionally, Raising Cane’s will give branded trucker hats and a free box combo card valid on a future visit for the first 100 box combos purchased in restaurant. The first customer in line will score a special gift basket, too, the company said.
‘An important milestone’
Kevin Comeaux, Raising Cane’s area leader of restaurants, described the launch as “an important milestone” for the brand.

“We’re excited to welcome the Brick community to enjoy our craveable chicken finger meals, signature Cane’s Sauce and legendary hospitality. This opening is about more than serving great food; it’s about truly integrating with the Jersey Shore community, connecting with local families, supporting organizations that make a difference and building lasting relationships with our new neighbors for years to come,” he said.
Ahead of the grand opening, Raising Cane’s says it will hire 80 crew members. Available positions include cashier, customer service associate and fry cook.
Named a “Best Place to Work” by Glassdoor, Forbes and USA Today, Raising Cane’s offers competitive wages, flexible schedules, weekly paychecks and opportunities for advancement.
